Books that MUST Be Turned into Movies (else I might die)

We all have those books that we just devour like this:

giphy-2.gif

and then, of course, we want to SEE them. Even if we’re risking the chance of it being a total flop, we want to see our precious little babes and beautiful settings up on the bigscreen of our laptops. I know that you can all relate. To both of these.

ANYWAYS. Here is my list of movies that I am D Y I N G to see either as a movie or tv show. You’re welcome.

Stalking Jack the Ripper

GUYS. I’m thinking, like, a miniseries or whatever. Think about it. Wouldn’t it be amazing? A historical fiction with a kickass female lead and some gothic settings PLUS romance. I mean, sign me up!

And it could get so many views! (or whatever it’s called…) Even from those that haven’t read the books.

ATTENTION YOU PEEPS WHO BUY THE RIGHTS TO BOOKS: THIS IS THE ONE. For reals, tho. For reals. (I know that I’m not alone in this.)

But the setting, guys! It would be a fabulous Victorian era with fancy dresses and eerie street lamps. Just yes.

Caraval

Supposedly movie rights have already been bought (given? I don’t know?), but nothing has come to fruition yet. I know. I’m as disappointed as you are. Or more. Probably more. But I’m still holding out hope!

If the Caraval trilogy was adapted into movies, they would (hopefully) be visual masterpieces. Glorious. If you put some effort into CGI and special effects, these would be fantastic. Of course, you would also have to have a brilliant script.

But yes. This would be an amazing movie.

Blank Mastermind

Bum bum bum buuuum! Crime show alert!

So it would be a crime show exactly, but close enough. Fans of the shows would like it. Think Agents of Shield minus the powers (not sure why it makes me think of that, but whatevs *shrugs*). Another one that would be amazing on screen!

There can be LOADS of mystery layers and suspense and MY GOODNESS. Let’s just make Sam Claflin Wolfy, alright? Alrighty.

Unfortunately, indie books don’t have as much of a shot at getting a movie … but I’ll still hold out hope!

Lockwood & Co.

This is another movie that has the rights bought (but again – that really doesn’t mean a thing). Still! These would be F A B U L O U S. I TV show, perhaps? You could even make up episodes!

Actually, as I read them I was thinking that they would make a fantastic show. Amp up the scariness a little bit. The relationships would be perfect for the screen and the plots, as well!!!

Basically, I am all for an adaption for this.

(Bonus: I actually wouldn’t flip out at it straying from the book! I feel that any kind of adaption would be good.)

Lunar Chronicles

I think that we can all agree that this is a solid yes.

Recently, I’ve been craving watching this series. The sucky part? IT ISN’T A TV SERIES YET. (yes, a tv series; not a movie) I mean, I think that Netflix would kick butt at this series! All of the sci-fi elements and capture what we all know and love about it. ❤

Again, this is a book that I think has rights bought, BUT HOW LONG MUST WE WAIT?!

Always and Forever, Lara Jean

We’ve all watched and loved To All the Boys (and fallen in love with Lana Condor + Noah Centineo); we’re all psyched for P.S. I Still Love You. BUT I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE THIRD MOVIE IS A THING, OKAY?! It would suck hard to not have it.

only if i get me that third movie, peter

So! There you have it, folks. My most-wanted adaptions. Do you agree with me? Any that you are absolutely dying for? Lettuce chat and fangirl! But srsly. I want these.

  1. I’m yet to read Caraval, but I bet that it would look just beautiful on the big screen! I also haven’t read the Lunar Chronicles but they’re so famous that I’m really surprised no one’s adapted them yet…

(Totally think that you should just sneak into a film studio, sign some papers and make all these happen 😉 )

    1. The book is just so aesthetically pleasing (somehow) and I can only DREAM of how they would look on screen ❤ ❤ ❤

A Lunar Chronicles adaption has been in the works for quite some time, just it hasn't gotten past the first few roadblocks, I guess.

(And I'd do it, you know. I just need to get out to California – where all the magic happens 😂)
