Things That Books Have Made Me Do

Hey guys! So I got inspired to write this post after reading Blank Mastermind and realizing that, hey, I’ve done a lot of things because of books. Why not write a post about it? Thus, this list was created! Mwahahaha! >:D

Basically, these are just a ton of (5) things that books have “made” – or inspired – me to do. Preeeeetty self explanatory. I hope that you guys like it! If you do, I could probably make another post! (Including some funnier answers… πŸ˜‰ )

Play Piano (A Thousand Perfect Notes)

I had wanted to play piano for a while because, like, how else do you make friends other than possessing impressive skills? That desire had tripled when I binged Your Lie in April. ATPN was the tipping point. I decided, hey, why not?

So I took a college piano class (it was more of a teach-yourself sort of thing, so don’t all go and get too impressed) and learned to play piano. Now I can play at about a third grade level. Yay me! Yay ATPN!

Get a Leather Jacket (Blank Mastermind)

I have always loved leather jackets. I had a cropped red one for a couple years (think Starlord), but that finally ripped and died. Yes, very sad.

But now – especially spurred after reading Blank Mastermind – I am getting one for Christmas! I wore it to a Christmas dance/formal thing and it looks fabulous. Leather is my fav. ❀

Travel to Wonderland (Splintered)

If any of you haven’t been down the rabbit hole, then I highly recommend that you do.

Wonderland is entirely trippy and Morpheus is as charming as ever and just yas. 10/10 fun.

Bake (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before)

As soon as I had finished reading the To All the Boys books, I immediately went and baked. After my second reread, I baked an overflowed oven amount.

Lara Jean is such a baker and my copy To All the Boys has the Christmas Bonanza cookie recipes! I have yet to get to any of them … but they all look super delicious!!!!! *drools*

Create (Eliza and Her Monsters)

I read Eliza and Her Monsters all in nearly one night (I started it and ten or eleven at night … and I’m not a night person … thus one night and a morning). While it may not have been my most favorite book, it was super inspirational.

Eliza creates web comics and absolutely pours her heart and soul into it, which, to me, was quite inspiring. It made me want to drop everything and to just write or draw – both of which I love to do. (Or course I didn’t do that … as it was two in the morning πŸ˜‰ )

So what about YOU guys? What are some things that books may or may not have made you do? I’d love to hear them! The quirkier the better! Let’s chat! πŸ˜€

  1. I started playing piano because of Your Lie in April as well!! (By the time I read ATPN I was already having lessons.) I always wanted to learn, and then I watched the show and my heart was just captured by such a beautiful instrument ❀ I mostly teach myself new pieces now using YouTube which is fun. I can play All of Me by John Legend, Stay by Rihanna, Jealous by Labrinth… I’m basically a pro πŸ˜‰

    1. Yea, same!! ATPN just pushed me to be better. πŸ˜‰ Yes!!! It is just so beautiful! I can’t really play any modern pieces … a lot of modified Mozart pieces is my thing, a long with hymns and Christmas pieces, lol, so obviously I am all impressive. πŸ˜‚ (I ADORE All of Me!!! It is so beautiful!!!!!!)

      1. A lot more impressive than me! Modern pieces are just quick and easy to learn, and you can sing along to them, but nothing beats the classic, traditional pieces. (Although All of Me IS gorgeous I agree πŸ˜‰ )

  2. Ha! Good question… i had some “book themed dinners”, inspired by the stuff i read, and after reading some books set in South Africa i really wanted to visit and eventually made it, but i think that’s about it πŸ˜€
I love leather jackets! On account of being short i can only wear those biker style ones tho…

    1. Oh well that’s cool! I’ve always wanted to do a themed dinner!! πŸ™ƒ

Yas, leather jackets are boss. I’m the opposite, though. I’m tall and sleeves are incredibly short, haha.
