Crannig Castle – Blog Tour

Hey everyone! So sorry for the later(er) post!

Anyways, Today I’m part of the blog tour for Morgan Huneke’s newest book, Crannig Castle (the third and final book in the Time Captives series).

I’m reviewing it, and I hope that you enjoy it!

(P.S. Don’t forget to read everyone else’s posts!)

28689391God, please look after Adriel. Keep him safe and keep him from acting foolish. And please help him to be able to find me.

Rae knew she could trust God to look after both of them. It was all she had now.

The Time Captives have been reunited. The rightful king has been freed. Now all that remains is to defeat the strytes who still hold a tyrannical rule over the people of Calhortz. But with their lack of soldiers, it’s a task that is easier said than done. They need allies, but are they worth it when it requires facing ghosts from their pasts?

Returning to his home country only brings the loss of Adriel’s family to the forefront of his mind. His determination to find Rae has never ceased, but now that determination could potentially destroy all that he and the Time Captives have been working towards. And his new-found faith may not be able to withstand the challenge.

Will they be able to set aside their personal struggles for the sake of the freedom of all or will they allow their pasts to consume them? Will they manage to win back Crannig Castle from the rule of the strytes? The fate of Calhortz hangs in the balance.

Crannig Castle is the final book of the Time Captives trilogy, a tale of faith, family, fantasy, and a fight for truth and freedom.

The Good:

Okay, so, this book was pretty good. It was a nice ending to a nice trilogy.

Just, I didn’t quite connect with it as well as the books prior. More on that below.

Anyways, I loved the characters and plot and stuff. Eleanor was probably my favorite; she’s pretty cool. I also liked Samantha and Abigail. And Jonathan, ’cause he’s the book nerd and compared a bunch of stuff to J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis’s books.

And the ending was amazing for this series! (Though I feel like more deaths would’ve been suitable.) Just how Morgan did it made me so happy/sad, and I already miss the Time Captives! ❤

The character growth was awesome! Definitely a lot of changed people by the end!

Plus, siblings (and great … aunts and uncles and the such 😉 )! So, yeah.

Really liked it!

The Bad:

So. Firstly, I feel like there were too man characters. We had, like, fifteen MCs, and it got a little confusing on who’s who, and who’s narrating what and stuff. I also don’t feel like we got to know them all that well.

It was a little too (or a lot) convenient in places. Like, it was pretty unlikely and they were all super lucky and stuff.

Also, things happened a little too quickly.

But I feel like a huge thing for me was, I had a hard time connecting. Nothing bad on the book’s part, though! I am just in a HUGE book slump, and I haven’t read any of the rest of the books IN FOREVER.

Things to know about: There IS a battle, and there are some deaths and fights and arrows and dragons. There’s violence, but no too graphic or anything. 😉

Anyways, this is a really cool ending to the trilogy! I’d really recommend this series to people who love MG fantasy, that’s Christian and 100% clean!
