The Experiment

Today is The Experiment by the awesome Morgan Elizabeth Huneke. If you (which you should) read this, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

One hundred years in the future… America as we know it today no longer exists. Scientist Holly Reginald and President Malcolm Crowdler have hatched an evil plot to control the minds and lives of the American people. Only a few are still able to fight back. And those few are children. Mystery and intrigue abound in this heart-stopping adventure as the last remnant of Americans strives to stop The Experiment…before it’s too late.

What I thought:

I enjoyed this book a lot! As soon as I saw the description, I wanted to read it immediately! I mean, a scientist and president wanting to brainwash America? Give me some of that!!

It has a wonderful cover, simple, but beautiful. I love the lighting in the background, and it’s quite fitting for the book.

I loved this book!! This is definitely in a genre I enjoy. It was well written and I connected quite well with all the characters. Every page made me love the book even more.

Also, when I first started reading this, I thought that it was in the Medieval Ages/a different world (note to self: one look at the description would’ve said otherwise), so I was startled when Morgan mentioned a fridge (or something like that), though I think it was probably because I had just finished reading The Crossways. I’m a bit crazy. 😛

Characters:

I loved all the characters, but especially Edmund and Brian.

All the characters were great and special in their own way. Some were leaders, others were kids of action, and some were to young to know what on earth was going on. 🙂

Plot:

As mentioned above, I quite enjoyed this. The plot was well-defined and ended beautifully. All the character’s individual stories all intertwined wonderfully. 🙂

Problems:

As all books, I had a problem with The Experiment. It kinda bothered me that the last names were used so many times, but I quickly got use to it.

This book didn’t have too much, if any, spelling/grammar problems, which made me quite happy. 🙂

Other:

Another book for the books-I’m-gonna-to-make-Trevor-read-whether-he-wants-to-or-not-because-they’re-just-so-awesome list. 🙂

This is a Middle-Grade book (though I’m a teenager and enjoyed this a ton), so there was nothing inappropriate or anything, and I think people of all ages would enjoy this book.

I’d definitely recommend this book!

Great job Morgan! You’re an amazing author and I can’t wait to read even more of your work! Keep writing!!

I give this book 3 ∗∗∗
